The default density of 1 g/mL is a kitchen approximation for water. Enter a product-specific density for other ingredients; oil, honey and dry powders do not share one universal value. This is a cooking tool, not a medicine-dosing calculator.
How to use ml to Grams Calculator
- Choose the conversion direction and enter the quantity in the unit shown.
- Select the ingredient and measuring standard, or enter the density, yield or substitution convention requested by this tool.
- Select Calculate. Read the result and the assumption printed below it. Reset returns the form to its starting values.
Calculation method
Grams = milliliters × density in g/mL. Reverse: milliliters = grams ÷ density.
Worked example
At 1.42 g/mL, 100 mL is 142 g. Use the density of the actual ingredient; the 1 g/mL default is a kitchen approximation for water.
