Roll independent fair virtual dice in batches using unbiased integer sampling. View totals and compare observed and theoretical averages.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose the event or model and review the assumptions below.
  2. Enter the labeled inputs.
  3. Select Generate and read the labeled outputs.
  4. Change an input and calculate again; Reset restores the example inputs.

Calculation method

Each die is sampled uniformly from 1 through s using rejection sampling on browser cryptographic random integers.

Assumptions and limits

Simulation of fair independent dice. Up to 1,000 dice per batch and 100 batches, with at most 10,000 generated dice. First 20 batches and first 50 dice per displayed batch are shown.

Worked example

For two d6 with modifier zero, the theoretical mean batch total is 7. Generate multiple batches to see an observed average, which normally differs from 7 over a finite record. The display previews the first twenty batches and fifty dice per displayed batch, while every generated die contributes to reported averages. A fixed modifier shifts each total equally; it does not add randomness.
