A successful payout can be reported on two bases
Under a standard straight-up roulette payout of 35:1 profit, a hypothetical stake of 10 units earns 350 units of net profit if it succeeds. The gross return is 360 units because the original ten-unit stake is also returned. Calling 350 the total return or 360 the profit mixes the two accounting bases.
Include the losing outcome when calculating a mean
On an equal-likelihood 37-pocket wheel, a straight-up bet covers one pocket, so win probability is 1/37. Expected net result is (1/37)×350+(36/37)×(−10) = −10/37, approximately −0.270270 units per hypothetical play. The successful payout alone does not describe the average result.
Keep venue rules outside an unsupported calculation
The Roulette Payout Calculator applies the standard profit payout selected in its menu. It excludes special zero rules, promotions, commissions or other venue-specific terms. Zero and double-zero pockets are included in the wheel denominator rather than treated as ordinary red/black successes.
Use the result as rule arithmetic
This tool does not place a bet, recommend a selection or establish a way to obtain a positive expectation. Read zero pockets and expected loss to compare the two standard wheel sizes. The existing Expected Value Calculator can check a hypothetical net-outcome table, while the odds tools elsewhere on the site have a distinct quotation or probability-conversion purpose.
Check the model behind your result
Use the Roulette Payout Calculator for the supported calculation and review its stated assumptions before interpreting the output. Find related tools in the Statistics category, or browse the GreenCalc homepage for other calculation topics.
