Original instructional diagram for Rabbit Coat Genetics: Two Loci Cannot Explain Every Color. Values, when shown, are illustrative; clinical images do not recommend a dose.
Keep the fixed genetic background in view
The two-locus model covers pigment type and dilution on a specified solid-color background. It does not infer the parents’ full genotypes from appearance, and other coat genes can change the visible outcome. A list of four possibilities is not a complete rabbit-color system.
Use Rabbit Color Calculator to work through these inputs while keeping the displayed assumptions in view.
Treat proportions as per-offspring probabilities
The predicted percentages assume the entered genotypes, independent assortment and the fixed background. They do not guarantee a particular litter distribution. If additional genes or patterns are relevant, use a model that represents them instead of interpreting a simplified result more broadly.

Read the calculation on its stated basis
Enumerate B/b and D/d inheritance under independent assortment on a fixed solid self, full-color, normal-extension coat background.
This teaching model covers black, blue, chocolate and lilac scenarios only. Agouti, albino, extension and pattern variation are outside the fixed background.
A model is useful only within its assumptions. The result describes the input population or cross; it does not supply missing biological information or replace an appropriate genetic assessment.
Keep related questions separate
Dihybrid Cross Calculator - Punnett Square addresses a related part of the measurement or interpretation task. Check its own method before carrying a value from one tool to the other.
